My 7month old iPod (video) has decided to develop an internal crack on the screen. I have done nothing to cause this! I switched it off one night, plugged in to charge it up and when I picked it up in the morning the screen had cracked :( Of course I sent it back to Apple who have refused to repair it under the warranty as they claim that the damage resulted from abuse or misuse of the iPod on my part. This is absolutely wrong. I have been back and forth with Apple's customer service rep's who show nothing but an arrogant attitude more or less saying "we are always right and you are lying through your teeth to get a freebie from us". It has reached the point where I have now had to get the Trading Standards (a government agency whose purpose is protect the rights of consumers in the UK) involved and am threatening to take it to the small claims court. It is deeply shameful that Apple would allow a situation like this to develop. I have spent, literally, thousands of pounds on Apple computers and this is my 3rd iPod and now I have a problem with one of my purchases Apple don't want to know!
It's an absolute disgrace & I certainly won't be recommending any friends of mine get an iPod I will be pointing them towards Creative's offerings. It's just a shame that those devices don't work on my Mac as well as the iPod does.
